My Publisher

I read my new poem
To a publisher friend of mine
He replied, “It’s a load of old tripe”
I thought you swine

The very next day
I read him two more
He quickly showed me
His publisher’s door

I then posted a poem
I thought a load of old tripe
“I love it,” he bellowed
Then used it to light his publisher’s pipe ☺
